Meet Dr. Himank Gupta, DMD — Orthodontist in Brookfield, CT

Some orthodontists end up in Connecticut. Dr. Himank Gupta grew up here.

He was raised in Waterbury and Middlebury. He went to UConn for undergrad, then stayed for dental school, then stayed again for his orthodontic residency. When it was time to open a practice, he came back to the state he knows and built something small enough to do things right.

Brookfield Orthodontics is not a franchise. It’s not a corporate chain with rotating providers and a front desk that doesn’t know your name. It’s a private, independent orthodontic practice that Dr. Gupta built because he had a specific idea about how this should work, and he wasn’t interested in compromising on it.

Education and Training

Dr. Gupta completed his entire orthodontic education at the University of Connecticut, which has one of the most respected dental programs in the Northeast.

University of Connecticut — Bachelor’s Degree

UConn School of Dental Medicine — Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), 2015

UConn School of Dental Medicine — Orthodontic Residency, 2018

The orthodontic residency is a separate, specialized program after dental school. It focuses specifically on how teeth move, how the bite develops, and how to diagnose and treat the full range of orthodontic problems. That training is what makes an orthodontist different from a general practitioner who offers teeth straightening as one of many services.

Dr. Gupta did all of that at UConn. He knows the faculty. He knows the program. And he stayed in Connecticut because this is where he trained and where he wanted to practice.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Gupta is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA).

AAO membership requires completion of an accredited orthodontic residency. It’s not a membership anyone can buy. And staying active in the organization means keeping up with continuing education, changes in technique, and developments in orthodontic technology. Dr. Gupta takes that seriously.

How This Practice Is Run

When Dr. Gupta opened Brookfield Orthodontics, he made some decisions about how he wanted to practice that don’t always match what large group practices do. A few things that matter to us:

  • You see Dr. Gupta at every appointment, not whoever happens to be available that day
  • Appointments are never stacked to the point where he’s rushing through them
  • Treatment decisions are based on your case, not a protocol designed for volume
  • •If you call with a question, someone picks up

A fair number of patients come to us after experiences at larger offices where they felt like they were on a conveyor belt. That’s not a criticism of every group practice. But it’s not what we built here, and the patients who care about that tend to find us.

Serving Patients Across Western Connecticut

Dr. Gupta sees patients from Brookfield, Danbury, Newtown, Bethel, New Milford, Ridgefield, Brewster NY, and Kent. The office is at 304 Federal Rd, Suite 305, with easy access from Route 7 and Route 25.

We offer Saturday morning appointments because orthodontic treatment is a multi-year commitment and most families can’t leave school and work every 8 weeks on a Tuesday afternoon. We try to make the scheduling part as painless as the treatment.

Invisalign Provider

Dr. Gupta is a certified Invisalign provider with experience treating both teens and adults using clear aligner therapy. He stays current with Invisalign’s evolving technology and uses it regularly enough to know its strengths and limitations, which is the only way to recommend it appropriately.

From Dr. Gupta

“I grew up with orthodontic problems. I know what it’s like to feel self-conscious about your teeth and to have that change once treatment is done. That’s not a small thing. It affects how you carry yourself, how you show up in conversations, how you feel when someone takes your photo. I opened this practice because I wanted to give that to people in my own community, and to do it in a way that felt personal. Every patient I treat is someone I’m actually going to know. That’s the point of running a small private practice, and it’s something I don’t take lightly.”
